Open Letter to the Irish People
from the Czech civic initiative D.O.S.T.

Prague 8th September 2009

Dear Irish friends,

In a couple of weeks the people of Ireland will be again deciding whether to accept the Lisbon Treaty or not. We, as well as you, are aware of the fact that a “YES” in this repeated referendum shouldn’t have any legal effect, because you have already lawfully rejected the Lisbon Treaty once and for all last year. We understand, however, that your government gave in to the brutal external squeeze – put by the Brussels potentates and the treasonable French and German politicians in particular – and therefore are holding the referendum once more. But we believe that the Irish people will speak again in favor of their country and of the common good of the whole of Europe . And hence we hope you will again be courageous in rejecting this new attempt at enslavement of the European nations.

We wholly agreed with the Czech President Václav Klaus, when he stated about the Lisbon Treaty during the session of the Czech Constitutional Court : “If this treaty comes into force, the international position as well as internal conditions within our state will change. Also the influence of our country on the decisions of the European Union will be weakened. All this would change the terms of our membership, which were approved by our citizens in the referendum on the EU Accession Treaty. The democratically established authorities of our state will be deprived of the right to decide on many areas of public life and this administration will be turned over to EU authorities which are not subject to sufficient democratic control. In addition, European Union authorities will be allowed to expand their own competency over life in our country and its citizens at their will, even without our consent.”

Our nation has had a doleful and centuries-old experience of the consequences of “turning over the administration” to foreign hands, and that is why a strong voice against the Lisbon Treaty can be heard in our country, too. We, however, were not – due to high treason committed by our government and parliament members – allowed to express our disagreement in a referendum. Therefore we are more and more turning our eyes to Ireland , which has become for us the last island of freedom. The Brussels matchmakers will now be bamboozling, flattering, and bullying you, or promising the earth to you, so we beseech you – don’t believe them! We and you have our own experience of history. Vote “NO” – for saving the real, historical Europe !

Our Czech civic initiative D.O.S.T. (Duvera, Objektivita, Svoboda, Tradice; in English: Confidence, Objectivity, Freedom, Tradition) is going to support your steadfastness and courage by holding two demonstrations of solidarity in front of the Irish Embassy in Prague, namely on Thursday 17th and 24th September, both from 6pm. And on Saturday 3rd October, just on the day after your referendum, we shall undertake a march to the Prague Castle (assembly point again in front of the embassy building, at 3pm) with the intention of handing over a written expression of thanks to our President Václav Klaus for his brave resistance against the Lisbon Treaty and a petition asking him to hold on with his resistance even if the Irish referendum comes out badly. For there is still a hope that – provided at least one country will not have finished the ratification by the time – the possible newly elected Conservative government in the United Kingdom will call a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty next year.

But we don’t want to rely on such a “last glimmer of hope” and we believe that the Irish people will thwart the perfidious plans of the newly-coined usurpers of Europe as early as on 2nd October 2009.

Dear Irish fellow combatants,

Be courageous and intransigent. None of the European nations will ever forget about it.

On behalf of the Czech civic initiative D.O.S.T.:

Michal Semín
Ladislav Bátora
Petr Bahník

Are you normal? Austro-Hungarian Empire was something that should never repeat. Forceful Magyarisation that was introduced on subjugated nations of Kingdom of Hungary is a big shame in its history. It began after the Revolution of 1848 and was intensified after the Compromise of 1867 when the dualism came into power. Its aftermath can be perceived even today.
Never ever again to form a state with Hungary, I am telling you seriously.

Thank you Ireland… for listening to the bribes and scare tactics of Europe. Thank you for not backing up the vote the French and the Dutch had on the constitution, and the muzzle given to the rest of Europe by naming that same constitution a ‘treaty’ and ratifying it over the heads of the people.

Thank you for coming back on your previous NO, which should’ve been heard by Europe, but wasn’t. In true non-democratic fashion a second referendum on the same treaty (with a few political (not legal binding) statements added) was forced, as the EU did not approve of the answer of the first referendum.

The Lisbon treaty is anything but democratic, and is signing over too much power into the hands of people we (the people of the EU) cannot control, check or elect.

This treaty is an abomination, and Ireland as a single country stood between the EU politicians and the EU people… and the Irish allowed the politicians to win.

I now hope mr. Klaus will hold out for Britain.
